Alvin L. Fortin, 77, Lewiston

Alvin Lloyd Fortin, 77, of Lewiston died Saturday, March 29, 2008, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston.
Alvin was born Nov. 20, 1930, in Oberlin, Kan., to Raymond and Opal Chilson Fortin. He attended schools in Nampa and McCall.
After school, Alvin served in the Idaho National Guard for one year.
Alvin was married to Arlene Dalton. They had a daughter, Terry Lynn. They were later divorced.
Alvin had a second daughter, Tracy, from a second marriage, which ended in divorce.
In 1984, Alvin married the love of his life, Bea Presby Creviston.
For a while he worked at a lumber mill in Weippe. Then he worked for the railroad in Nampa. In 1970, he moved to Lewiston and continued his career as a floor covering specialist. Alvin worked for Skelton Floors and Western Floors but mainly was self-employed until retiring in 1997.
Alvin was a member of the Moose Lodge for 23 years. His favorite time was spent with his extended family. His next favorite time was spent fishing. Alvin also enjoyed gardening, hunting and being with his friends.
He is survived by his wife, Bea, at their Lewiston home; his daughters, Terry Lynn Kalmbach of Keuterville, and Tracy Rogers of Grain Valley, Mo.; stepdaughters, Brenda and husband Bill Rogers of Monroe, Wash., Karla Morelock of Lewiston, Lori and husband Darryl Wassmuth, and Cheryl and husband Chuck Riddle, all of Lewiston; stepsons, Jeff and wife Beverly Chandler, Brian and wife Judy Chandler, and Greg and wife Monica Creviston, all of Lewiston; 19 grandchildren; one nephew; and one niece; Survivors also include his sister, Darlene Gaddis; and his stepmother, Bessie Fortin, both of Nampa.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Opal; and his stepfather Edgar (Frankie) Franklin.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at Malcom's Brower-Wann Funeral Home in Lewiston. After the service there will be a short reception at the funeral home followed by a covered-dish dinner at 1 p.m. at the family home, 1031 Cedar Ave., Lewiston.
