Also directly from the government SE NE Sect 16 Twp 6 Range 4 40 acres School land bought 13 Jul. 1846 and NE SE Sect 16 Twp 6 Range 4 40 acres School land bought June 13 1846 On 11 Aug. 1864 he sold to Ambrose Emery Jr. his son 75 acres West half of the Northwest quarter of section seventeen in township six north of range three west - as Ambrose and wife Mary recorded in deed bk. W pg. 258

"married Mary Anderson b. 5 Mar. 1795 Fayette county, Pennsylvania dau. of RIchard and Mary Anderson. They moved to Coshocton county, OHio and next to Greene county, Indiana, in 1848. She died 2 Mar. 1870. Both are buried Taylor Ridge Cemetery Taylor Twp., Greene county, Indiana. Children listed: John, Sarah E., Elizabeth, Richard A., Rebecca, Ambrose Jr., William S., Mary Ann, Nathaniel, Jonas, and Jesse."

"son of Ambrose and his second wife Rebecca (Yocum) Emery; married Mary Anderson sister of Sarah, who married Samuel Emery, 1812, in Greene co., Pa. They removed to Coshocton co., O. and next to Greene co., Ind., in 1848. He was a farmer and died near Scotland, Ind., July 8, 1878. His wife died March 21, 1870. They moved to Greene County Indiana, in 1848, and located in Taylor township. He got three hundred and sixty acres oof virgiin land which he cleared, and sooon made a splendid home.. He was always a farmer but became widely known and was highly respected. Both he and his wife died in Taylor township...."
