Ann Pine Decatur was the sister of Commodore Stephen Decatur, Jr. She was first married to Captain James McKnight, USMC, with whom she had four children. He was killed in a duel in Leghorn, Italy in 1802. She then married her second husband, Doctor William Hurst, in 1808.
