See William's bio for comments on the reason for his and Anne's separate burial sites. Anne was buried in the Fitzwilliam burial site appurtaining to Milton Hall-- a majestic and hauntingly atmospheric place Daphne Dumaurier had in mind when she wrote "Rebecca" and created the Gothic-romantic hall of Manderlay. (see photo) In later life, William returned to his original family seat and consigned the onerous duties of Milton Hall to his son-- the fruit of an "association" whose legitimization by marriage may have been done posthumously, for the sake of that daughter (whose daughter Mildred was to marry a man of high station). William was buried with his second wife, not necessarily due to the matter of more copascetic paperwork, but because he outlived Anne by 20 years and probably developed a more lasting bond with her.
