"September 28, 1670, is the date of a statement of account of Lieutenant Colonel John Washington, who married Ann, widow of Henry Brett: "And we do find that Mrs. Ann Brett Washington has paid," etc., etc., "witness our hand this 3rd October, 1670. Recorded 9th October, 1670." May 31, 1671, Mr. Samuel Brett of Plymouth executed a discharge to "Lieutenant Colonel John Washington who intermarried with Mrs. Ann Brett, widow and administratrix of Henry Brett, of Plymouth, merchant, deceased."
