About Anne James (Unknown)
Many post that Sherwood James, Sr.(d. 1764, SC) was married to Anne Taliaferro. Where is the proof of that? Some say she was Anne Long, daughter of Richard Long. It is true in Sherwood's descendants through his son Sherwood, Jr., that through the late 1800s several used Taliaferro as a middle name. The Taliaferro family seems to be well researched without mentioning the James.
