Annie was the daughter of Willis Locklear and his first wife, Embly Locklear. She married Frank Lowery, Sr. on Feb. 1, 1920 in Saddletree, NC.

The following was taken from the Nov. 13, 1967 edition of THE ROBESONIAN:

Mrs. Annie Lowery, 67, died Saturday. Funeral services are being conducted today at 4 p.m. at the Mount Olive Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Surviving are her husband, Frank Lowery; three sons, Frank, Jr., Henry B., and Sam, all of Lumberton; seven daughters, Mrs. Augusta Revels, Mrs. Stacy Bell, and Mrs. Jeff Carter, all of St. Pauls, Mrs. Bradford Locklear of Rowland, Mrs. Guy Carter of Hope Mills, Mrs. Clyde Young of Lumberton, Mrs. Willie Jackson of Stedman; two sisters Mrs. Flora Dial and Miss Fannie Locklear, both of Lumberton; and three brothers, Ambrose, Frank, and Hozie Locklear, all of Lumberton.
