"...MOTHER OF SHERIFF MANN CALLED BY DEATH
Anna M. Mann, widow of C. W. Mann, one of the founders of the tomato canning industry in Utah, and mother of Sheriff George Mann of Davis county, passed away at her home at Woods Cross, Monday morning.
Mrs. Mann was born in Brimingham, England, and would have been 77 years old on the 28th of this coming August.
She came to Utah in 1859 in the handcart company of Robert Neslen, father of Mayor Neslen of Salt Lake City.
In 1863, she was married to her late husband. Thirteen children were born to them, nine of whom are living: Sheriff George B. Mann, M. B. Mann, Mrs. James Hatch, Mrs. Thomas Argyle, Mrs. J. S. Arbuckle, Mrs. Hugo Ogaard; all of Woods Cross; Mrs. Geo. Parkin and Ira B. Mann Salt Lake.
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon in the West Bountiful chapel. The speakers were J. T. Mabey, Thos. Waddoups, Amos Cook and Bishop T. E. Winegar. There was a large attendance and numerous floral offerings. Interment took place in the Bountiful cemetery.
