Daddy was a craftsman carpenter. He began his carpentry career with his father at about 14 yrs of age. His true dream was to be a Dr. but the depression and WWII made college out of the question.
During WWII, he helped his sister work her farm (after her husbands death), then briefly worked as an electrician in the naval yards in WA, and then went back to carpentry following the Army through the western states building barracks.
After the war he moved to CA with his Brother and Sister and continued in carpentry. There he met my mother. They married in 1947 and were married 57 years.
They retired to Seattle, WA to live near their only dauther and family, and spent many fine summers camping and fishing with friends.
He was a dedicated Christian and served on the elder board in the churches where they were members and taught early childhood Sunday School. He adored children.
He played trumpet and sang bass. He was kind and generous yet strong and wise. He was a wonderful Daddy and grandpa and played tirelessly with me and later with my son. He was a dedicated father and husband and the most Christ-like man I have ever known.
