Note: (Bartholomieu O. Crowder).He is generally accepted as the son of Henry Crowder, although proof is lacking. There must have been some relation. Bartholomew was born c1670 P.G.Co.or Chas.City Co.Va.He purchased 242 acres of land in Charles City Co.VA. on 7 November 1700, between the land of John Ellis,John Herbert,and Ellis Creek. Bartholomew and wife appear to be ancestors of Enoch Herbert Crowder (see Encyclopaedia Britannica); Bartholomew also appears to be an ancestor of Capt. Robert Austin "Bob" Crowder (1901-1972),Texas Ranger. A Possible descendant of Bartholomew: Alvin Floyd "General" Crowder (1899-1972),the "Yankee Killer".
