From Ben Ainslie's autobiography.
"My Grandfather on my father's side once started tracing the family tree. He went as far back as finding out that our ancestors were Scottish, and were all hung for stealing sheep on the south side of the border"
"On my mother's side, my grandfather was a Spitfire pilot in the 2nd World War. He was based at R.A.F. Ringwood, south of Manchester. I used to love sitting with him, and listening to stories about his sorties. He achieved a notoriety in the war. There was an order that attacks should not include religious sites, such as churches or cathedrals. On one mission, his squadron was attacking Cologne, and he managed to damage the city's cathedral, getting himself into a huge amount of trouble in the process. My great-grandfather on my mother's side made a name for himself as an inventor."
