Benjamin Hanks Jr. was the son of Benjamin Hanks Sr. and Abigail Heiford. Born in Duxbury-Pembroke, MA and died in Mansfield, CT. His father Benjamin Sr immigrated from London to America October 1699. Father of ten children including my 5th great-grandfather Deacon John Hanks. On April 23, 1724 he married Mary White. After the marriage they moved to Saquish Island. In 1769 Benjamin and his father signed covenant to form the Baptist Society. When Benjamin was 44 and Mary 42 they moved with family to Mansfield, CT. What was known as "Chestnut Hill" became "Hanks Hill" as Benjamin built what became known as the Mansion House.
