Benjamin Lanier moved to Brunswick County, Virginia which later became Mecklenburg County. Benjamin B. Lanier was a recorded patriot of the American Revolution. During the Revolutionary War he gave money and supplies to aid the Americans and his descendents are eligible for membership in the D.A.R.
