About Benjamin F. Stewart

The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Private Benjamin F. Stewart, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 9 July 1876, while serving with Company E, 7th U.S. Infantry, in action at Big Horn, Montana. Private Stewart carried dispatches to Brigadier General Crook at imminent risk of his life.
