New Plymouth...Services for Mrs. Bessie Viola Handley, 85, a rural New Plymouth resident, who died Tuesday at the Ontario hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth, by the Rev. Bob Roberts of the Ontario Assembly of God Church. Interment will follow at Park View. She was born Aug. 1, 1887 at Wayne, Kan. She was raised in that area and was married to Ralph Handley, March 24, 1920 at Munden Kan. The couple lived in Munden until 1928 when they moved to Holyoke, Colo., for four years then to Sidney, Nev., where they lived 11 years. They moved to New Plymouth in 1943. They lived in Cottage Grove, Ore., from 1954-1959 then returned to New Plymouth where they had since resided. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and the American Legion auxiliary. Survivors in addition to her husband include three daughters, Mrs Fahy (Laura Mae) Tague, Ontario, Mrs. Elmer (Cleo Belle) Wilson, Cottage Grove, and Mrs. William (Mildred Irene) Mitchell, Lebanon, Ore.; a granddaughter, a grandson and a great grandson. She was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.
