In 1949 Betty married Orva C. Thompson in Grand Coulee, Washington. They lived in the Yakima area most of their married lives. She worked in fruit warehouses and as an apple checker for William P. Thompson Orchards. Betty and Orva were involved with the Yakima Speedway for many years where they formed many friendships.
Foremost in Betty's life was her family.

YAKIMA - Betty J. Thompson passed away at home June 20, 2007 with friends and family around her. She was born on June 10, 1933 in Bakersfield, California to Herbert and Clara Alsup. As a child she moved with her family between Washington and California following the harvest. In 1949 Betty married Orva C. Thompson in Grand Coulee, Washington. They lived in the Yakima area most of their married lives. She worked in fruit warehouses and as an apple checker for William P. Thompson Orchards. Betty and Orva were involved with the Yakima Speedway for many years where they formed many friendships. Foremost in Betty's life was her family. She is survived by her daughter Jan Green and husband Jordan, daughter-in-law Sharon Thompson; her sisters Dorothy Rolhman and Roberta Welker; granddaughter Emily Clark and husband Trent Clark, granddaughter Mika Greathouse and husband Shawn, grandson Ben Green and wife Carrie, and grandson Travis Thompson; brother in-law Bill Thompson and wife Irene, sister in-law Louise Ackley and husband Bob, sister in-law Margaret Alsup, sister in-law Barbara Thompson and very good friend Wanda Nichols. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death her parents, by her husband Orva, son Mike, her brothers Ray and Bob Alsup, brother in-law Jerry Thompson, as well as sister-in-law Marion McFarland and husband Paul. Visitation will be from 2-5 P.M. on Sunday, June 24, at the Keith and Keith 9th Avenue Chapel. Graveside services will be at 12 P.M. Monday, June 25, at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend should meet at the cemetery. Keith and Keith Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
