About Robert Lane "Bob" Saget

Robert Lane "Bob" Saget (born May 17, 1956) is an American stand-up comedian, actor and television host. Although he is best known for his family-friendly roles as Danny Tanner in Full House and the original host of America's Funniest Home Videos, Saget is also known for his very vulgar stand-up routine.

Saget was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Rosalyn Saget (née Comer), a hospital administrator, and Benjamin Morton Saget, a supermarket executive. His father was of Latvian Jewish descent. Saget lived in Norfolk, Virginia, and Encino, California, before moving back to Philadelphia and graduating from Abington Senior High School. His sister, Gay, died of scleroderma at age 47. Saget made a TV movie, For Hope, based on his sister and her struggle with the disease. His sister, Andrea, died of an aneurysm at age 34. Two other siblings died in childbirth before he was born.

Saget has 3 daughters, Twins Aubrey Saget and Lara Melanie Saget (born October 16, 1989) and Jennifer Belle Saget (born November 18, 1992), with ex-wife Sherri Kramer Saget.
