Calvin Ayze's Timeline
CHINLE, Ariz. — Services for Calvin Lee Ayze, 29, will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 13 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Father Blane Grien, O.F.M. will officiate. Burial will follow at the Chinle Community Cemetery.
Ayze died July 9 in Albuquerque. He was born June 19, 1971 in Chinle, Ariz into the Tangle People Clan for the Coyote Pass People Clan.
Ayze attended Many Farms High School. He worked in Salt Lake City, Utah for a year as a laborer. He was a sheep herder and enjoyed carving and drawing.
Survivors include his wife, Malinda Harvey of Chinle, Ariz.; sons, Lawson Harvey and Lionel Harvey, both of Chinle, Ariz.; daughters, Tania Harvey, Tama Harvey and Colinda Harvey, all of Chinle, Ariz.; brothers, Alvin L. Ayze of Many Farms and Gerald Whitesinger and Gabe Whitesinger, both of Chinle, Ariz.; and sister, Marie Yazzie of Chinle, Ariz.
Ayze was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard L. Ayze and Margaret Yazzie; step-father, John Whitesinger Sr.; and grandparents, Ned Yazzie, Elizabeth Yazzie.
Pallbearers will be Alvin L. Ayze, Johnny Benally, George Ned Yazzie, Christopher Descheeny, Harold Begay and Gerald Whitesinger.
A family meeting will be held at 6 p.m. tonight at Marie Ayze's residence, two miles north of park service.
