Arthur Carlos de Barros Basto (Jewish name: Abraham Israel Ben-Rosh) (b.1887-d.1961), the Apostle of the Marranos who has become known as the Portuguese Dreyfus was a decorated Portuguese military officer, a hero of Portugal's 1910 republican revolution and World War I and leader of the open return to Judaism of the Crypto-Jews of Portugal.
