Content Titus, sixth and youngest child of the immigrants Robert and
Hannah Titus, was born at Weymouth, Massachusetts, 28th March, 1643.
Was a landholder in Huntington, Long Island, in 1666, and in Newton in
1672. He married Elizabeth Moore, daughter of Rev. John Moore. He
was active in Church and State, was a Captain in the war against the
Indians and became an elder of the Presbyterian Church at the age of So.
He died 17th January, 1730, aged 87. His gravestone is in the southwest
corner of the ancient burial place at Newton.
