Capt. DANIEL, son of Carel Hansen, m. Grietje, dau. of Samuel Bratt, Sept. 8, 1717. She was b. March 24, 1686, and d. March 22, 1743; he made his will 1747, proved Oct. 18, 1748, in which he mentioned his dau. Susanna, Hannah and Geertruy, and son Johannes, then deceased. "Capt. Toll d. July 18, 1748, having been found barbarously murdered by a party of French Indians, at a place (in the present town of Glenville) called the Kleykuil, a short distance, less than half a mile north of Beukendaal, accompanied by Dirk Van Vorst."
