Memento mori Here lies Inter'd the remains of Capt. Ebenezer Cutler. The superiour intellectual abilities with which he was endowed, recommended him to the respect & notice of his fellow men, especially of the more wise and ??? wing. In the publick trust reposed in him he behaved with fidelity. He was a friend to good order and discerment, a love of learning, & studious to promote it in this place. He was a constant worshipper of God in his family, & very dilegent in his attendance on the publick institut- ions of religion. In his last sickness which tho' long & painful was born by him with great patience. He discovered an ardent Christ after communion with GOD,. And in hope of attaining to the more perfect degrees thereof enjoyed by the saints in glory he expired Jany: 17th 1777 Anno Ætatis 77.
