About Ebenezer Hoadley

Ebenezer Hoadley received twelve and a half acres of land from his father in 1763, situated on the hill south of the Hopkins road in Naugatuck. He sold this in 1768 to Sarah, wife of Rev. Mark Leavenworth of Waterbury. After his marriage he settled on top of Straight Mountain, so-called, near the Derby line and on the west side of the highway. His house was probably the first one erected on that part of Straight Mountain. He was a soldier in the American Revolution
