About Capt. John Ambrose "Dock" Wharton (CSA)

He initially served with Co F of the 13th Tennessee Infantry. He was severely wounded at the Battle of Shiloh. Later he was made a Captain in Wilson's Tennessee Cavalry. He and four of his men were killed by Col. Fielding Hurst in McNairy County TN in mid '63.
