-------------------- Mark Snow was an important person in the Eastham community on Cape Cod. In 1643 he is listed in the accounting of men age 16-60 "List of Men Ready to Bear Arms". He succeded his father Nicholas Snow as Town Clerk of Eastham. He was Captain in the Eastham Milita (Highest ranking officer) Active a various town affairs and highly respected.
His first wife Anne Cooke died after only two years of marriage in 1656 probably the result of child birth. One child was born of this union. He did not remarry until four years later, and then married Jane Prence, daughter of the third Governor of Plymouth Colony Thomas Prence. He and Jane Prence had eight more children for a total of nine children in the two marriages. The son of Nicholas Snow who came to Plymouth on the ship Anne (so called third ship) in 1623 and Constance Hopkins daughter of Stephen Hopkins both passengers on the first ship to Plymouth, the Mayflower in 1620. I'm working on an extensive profile of grandfather Marke Snow.
