Captain Francisco Lopez de Aragon born c. 1635 at Nuevo Mexico, Nueva España, died before 1661 at Nuevo Mexico, Nueva España
Married:
Children of Francisco and Ana Ortiz Baca:
In 1642 Francisco acted as the attorney for Nicolas Ortiz, assassin of former New Mexico Governor Luis Rosas. He is mentioned among the soldiers escorting the wagon-train from Mexico City in 1640 and 1646. By 1661, he is referred as dead.
His widow, Ana Baca, a sister of Antonio Jorge's wife, lived in her "estancia del Álamo" about four leagues from Santa Fé. A daughter, Juana, married to Sebastián de Herrera Corrales, was massacred at Taos, togther with his mother. Another daughter, Ana, was the wife of Francisco Campusana, both were still living in 1682. There were no males of this familiy mentioned in the Revolt lists or later. This was the end of the López de Aragón line, which was distinct from the one which came from México City in 1692.
