About Catherine (Cath) Kitson (Dymond)

This was James' second marriage. His first wife Rebecca (Jasper) Kitson was left behind in Victoria when James went to New South Wales. After Rebecca's death James married Catherine.

Neither of the birth, marraiges and death records held in Victoria nor New South Wales shows a record of James and Rebecca's marriage. James and Rebecca's children were all born in Victoria, Australia. They moved to Hillston in New South Wales, Australia in1880. There is a story on James Alexandra that was printed in the book "Where hte River Divides" that tells of James Alexandra Kitson (James' son) talking one of his brothers (possibly John Henry) into 'running' away to New South Wales into the Hillston area. This move my James' son caused James to go after his sons leaving Rebecca (his wife) behind. Rebecca died and James remarried Catherine Dymond (Diamond).

Catherine's (Kate's) death certificate shows her residence as Dr Singleton's homes in Melbourne, Victoria, which were, sadly, for destitute women and quite possibly at the age of 93 'Kate' may have had dementia, which may account for the 'unknowns' on the death certificate.
