Catherine "Kate" Orrock Silver was born 12 Nov 1830 in Saline, Fifeshire, Scotland. She was the daughter of Robert Orrock and Margaret (Morgan). She emmigrated with her parents to America between 1853-1857. She married Isaac Silver on 02 Jun 1857 in Fredericksburg, VA. They were the parents of eight children, seven of which lived to adulthood. The death information of a baby girl was noted in a letter that was found in a secret compartment of an old trunk and turned over to the Virginia Historical Society and can now be found in their archives.
