The two Yoder brothers and their families immigrated to America in 1742 on the ship "Francis and the Elizabeth" out of Rotterdam by way of Deal. The vessel was captained by George North. The families arrived in Philadelphia on Sept. 21, 1742. One Yoder brother died at sea and his wife was thereafter commonly called "Widow Barbara" in America. |
