67 families or 298 souls, 18 children having died on the journey. -------------------- Left Hamburg on "Cesar Godeffroy" 15th April 1858 and landed in East London 7th July 1858 and settled in Peddie. The children Auguste 7, Wilhelm 5, Carl 3, and Louise 1, accompanied them. It appeared Louise was one of 18 babies who died of scarlet fever on the voyage and were buried at sea.
