About Christian Shearer, Jr.

Served in the 16th North Carolina Company during the Revolutionary wor. While living in Wilkes County Kentucky, he ran a freight line between Louisville, Kentucky and Monticello, Kentucky in partnership with his son Jacob Shearer. After the death of his first wife Hannah Hoover, he married Sarah (Sally) Walters, mother of William Shearer. Christian is buried in a box grave in Bethesda Churchyard, Wayne County, Kentucky, that bears a recent marker with the name William Christian Shearer. William is an unsubstantiated addition to Christian's name.
