Christopher William Light was born at 25 Lower Back of the Walls, Southampton on Christmas Day 1891, the 4th of 8 children. His parents were James John Light and Annie Emma Nicholas.

Light died in the Sinking, his body was not recovered. His mother survived her son by only a few months. She died in October 1912.
