Christopher Zeigler owned and operated the sumac mill on Little Bennett Creek in Hyattstown, Maryland. The mill was powered by a horse and three mules. The sumac extract was used for dying hides at the tannery.
The mill was left to Christopher's son, David and his wife, Eleanor Ann (Hyatt) Zeigler..
