Huey and Mercy were married June 29, 1957. Huey is the son of Rene and Clavena (Cormier) Cognevich. Mercy is the daughter of Arthur "Jack" and Bertha (Couvillon) Bailey . We have four children: Huey Jr, Jeffery, Emilie, and Joel.

Clavena Cormier Cognevich, a homemaker, died Wednesday at her home. She was 89. Mr. Cognevich was born in Lake Arthur and lived in Buras for the past 80 years. Survivors include three sons, Huey, Webster and Rene Cognevich Jr.; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Harbor Church in Buras.
