Notes for Clement Melton

1. Records indicate he was brought to America's by the John Smith Co. Perhaps he returned as there are no records of him in Virginia, or perhaps he landed in Maryland.
2. Clement Melton (Metton) In May 1622 Clement Melton (Metton) a servant being sent to Virginia on the Furtherance, set sail from Isle of Wight. In June 1622 it was noted that he had left England before Virginia Company officials had received word of the March 22, 1622, Indian attack (VCR 3:618-1698; CBE 28).
