About Clement Nye Swift

 Born 1846 --   Well known Achusnut,  Mass. artist.  He was named after his mothers brother Clement D. Nye.  Studied painting in France. Married Annie Amelia Nye ( his first cousin - daughter of his mothers brother Thomas S.H. Nye)  when he was 49 . No children. Two of his paintings are on display  in the New Bedford  library. He lived in his fathers  house in Acushnut his whole life except for the time he was in France.   In 1910 he is living at the Nye farm with his wife and his mothers sister  Hannah Mandell Nye age 92. He died of bronchitis at age 71.
