About Constantijn Leopold Patijn
PvdA-Tweede-Kamerlid en staatsraad. Telg uit oude vooraanstaande patriciërsfamilie met grote public spirit. Topambtenaar op Economische Zaken en Buitenlandse Zaken. Protestants-christelijk orangist. Brak na de oorlog met andere CHU'ers door naar de PvdA. Als Tweede-Kamerlid woordvoerder buitenlandse zaken. Werd tot zijn teleurstelling in 1965 geen staatssecretaris. Sinds eind jaren zestig partijloos. Hoogleraar volkenrecht in Utrecht en later staatsraad in buitengewone dienst. Vader van Schelto en Michiel Patijn.
