++++++++++++++++++++++ Cyrus Culver Canfield (1817-1889), the son of Samuel Canfield and Sabrina Davenport, was a native of Champaign County, Ohio. He married Louisa Jones in Kirtland in October 1841, and they moved west with the Saints. They resided at Nauvoo where they received their endowments and were sealed for time and eternity. Cyrus entered polygamy at Nauvoo when he married Louisa’s sister, Clarissa Lora Jones and then married Laura Albina Allen in 1849. He joined the Mormon Battalion in 1846 and reached the Great Salt Lake City after being mustered out of service at Los Angeles in July 1847. His wives crossed the plains in 1848. Cyrus Canfield resided with his wives in Weber County. He had a few run-ins with the law (stealing horses and watches) and re-located in San Bernardino in 1855. Cyrus was excommunicated March 15, 1856 in San Bernardino (Deseret News, July 2, 1856)
