While in Cape Town he met and married a daughter of Dirk VAN BREDA of Oranjezicht. They moved to Graaff Reinet but later moved to Port Elizabeth where he started a successful law practice. They were great entertainers and their house was for many decades a scene of "vigorous social life".

There were two daughters, Susan who married Louis CLOETE and lived at Constantia and Florence who married Richard Shaw SMITH. The 3 sons, engineers and a lawyer, had no children. When the children left home, DYASON sold his home, "Durban House", in Western Road, Port Elizabeth and moved to "Rokeby" in Twickenham Road, Central [close to Fort Frederick].
