Dale E. Ferber
Dale E. Ferber, 72, Georgetown, died Monday, April 10, 2006, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany. A native of Palmyra, born Oct. 4, 1933, he was the son of the late Earl W. and Pearl B. Johnson Ferber. He was a retired cook for American Commercial Barge Lines and a member of Georgetown United Methodist Church, Georgetown Masonic Lodge, Hadi Shrine in Evansville and York Rite in Jeffersonville. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Ferber. Survivors include his wife, the former Arlene Hornickel; a son, Walter Ferber of Holland; a stepson, Allen Boaz of San Diego; a sister, Nancy Briscoe of Georgetown; and three grandchildren. Visitation: Wednesday, April 12, from noon to 9 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m., and Thursday, April 13, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown. Funeral: Thursday, April 13, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Wolfe Cemetery. Officiant: The Rev. Roy McClain. The family suggests memorial gifts to the Wolfe Cemetery Foundation or Georgetown Masonic Lodge.
