About Daniel William Cloud
Son of Daniel Cloud and Nancy (Owens) Cloud, he was a lawyer who traveled to Texas, through Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, and Louisiana.
He enlisted in the Volunteer Auxiliary Corps of Texas on January 14, 1836, at Nacogdoches. He, with other volunteers, traveled to San Antonio de Béxar and the Alamo. They arrived after February 11 and he became a member of the Tennessee Mounted Volunteers, commanded by William B. Harrison.
He died in the battle of the Alamo.
