About Daniel Edward Hawes, Sr.

Daniel was third in a family containing nine siblings.

Farmer and sometimes soldier.

Daniel fought in King Phillip's War; he was one of the leaders in defense of the colony. His brothers and many others of the Hawes family also served. Daniel's house was burned in the Indian war; in fact, most of the settlement was burned.
