Extract from a notebook of Patricia (Pippa) Mills (née Lloyd):

"My grandfather, Francis Henry Lloyd, founded the steel castings firm of F.H. Lloyd, Wednesbury. When he died in 1916 his son, Dan, took charge until his death in his 50s. His widow, my aunt Hilda, was convinced that he got leukemia, from which he died , by standing too near the new X-ray machine brought to detect faults in castings. My cousin, Frank, Dan's eldest son, then became managing director."
