The book “The SHIPMAN FAMILY IN AMERICA” erroneously lists this Daniel as the United Empire Loyalist or Tory who came to Canada. It also lists the following children as those of this Daniel: David, Sarah Shipman Pennock, Lydia Shipman Rowe and Lovina Shipman Baxter all of whom are proven to be those of his father Daniel born 1733.
An undated memorial referres to a will dated 27 Mar 1833. A copy of this will is of record in the Prescott Registry Office, Leeds-Grenville Co, Ontario, Canada. In this will Daniel leaves his property in the east half of the east half of lot 23, Concession 4, Township of Oxford, to his youngest son Thomas and the west half of the east half to Daniel his oldest son, subject to them equally sharing Maintenance and support of his wife Margaret during her natural life. It goes on to mention his daughters Barbara, Almira, Emmeline, Olivia Shipman Wood and Keziah Shipman Jackson.
