Listed on page 8/28 of the ship manifest as "David Abraam", "Turkish" laborer from Turkey, "Hebrew". Age38, born c. 1866. The ship was the Roma out of Naples, arriving in NYC on July 1, 1904.

Passage paid by self, with $50 (quite a lot of money compared to most others at the time). Going to "Brother Giusippe Abraam Negrin at # 311 W. 120 St, NYC". Since it was an Italian ship, brother "Joseph" to whom David was destined, is shown as "Giusippe".

It's not clear why the name is shown as "David Abraam" rather than as 'Negrin".

[JBA:] "David Abraam" would have been an acceptable variant, since Ioannina Jews were often listed with the name of their father as their surname.

Son "Abraham" is shown as age 17 in the 1910 Census, making a birth year circa 1893.
