David Vance, born 1745, married Priscilla Brank on September 21, 1775. They were the parents of Jane, Sarah, Samuel, Priscilla, Elizabeth, David, Robert Brank and Celia. He served in the revolution at King's Mountain. (1) (2)

Born in Frederick County, VA of Scotch Irish Parentage about 1750. Died at Buncombe County, NC in 1811. He was a soldier at Kings Mountain in the Patriot Army in 1780. One of the earliest settlers of Buncombe County and the first clerk of its county court. (2)
