About James Horton

Will of Jonathan Horton - NY Historical Society Collection, vol. II pp.4-6. It is dated 21 Feb 1707, proved 2 Jun 1708. "He leaves son James land at Great Hog Neck and Goose Creek."

"He was an office bearer in the Church at Southold from his majority to the close of hi life. A strong pillar of the church, he was universally known as Deacon James and greatly respected. He died May 16, 1762. His wife died March 8, 1783. Both buried in the Southold Cemetary." Taken from Horton Family History in June Frazee's possession.
