About Deborah Woodell (Lowry)

Deborah was the daughter of Rev. Calvin and Maria Sampson Lowry. She married Rev. William Rufus Woodell on Dec. 12, 1893 in Robeson county, North Carolina. Their marriage produced at least five daughters and four sons.
The following was taken from the Aug 16, 1964 edition of THE SALSIBURY TIMES:
Delmar - Mrs. Deborah L. Woodell, 93, widow of the late Rev. William R. Woodell, died Saturday in the Peninsula General Hospital after a long illness.
Her husband, a Methodist minister, has served churches at Pocomoke City, Fruitland, Stockton, Fairmont, Roxana, Williamsburg, Md., and the Denton and Laurel Circuits.
He died in 1944.
Mrs. Woodell was born in Florence, S. C. Upon her husband's retirement, they had lived in Delmar.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. John L. Needham of Elizabeth City, N. C., Mrs. H. L. Sterling of Delmar, Mrs. Dewey Bozman of Salisbury, and Mrs. Lloyd Simmons of Baltimore; two sons, E. C. Woodell of Atlanta, Ga., and John H. Woodell of Audubon, N. J.; 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and a brother, Dr. Fuller Lowry, and a sister, Mrs. Luther Revels both of Lumberton, N. C.
Funeral services will be held tonight at 8 o'clock in the Marvel Funeral Home, Delmar, conducted by the Rev. Robert P. Whitlock, pastor of St. Stephen's Methodist Church. He will be assisted by the Rev. John W. Townsend, a retired Methodist minister. Interment and graveside services will be held tomorrow at 3 p.m., DST, n the Hollywood Cemetery, Elizabeth City, N. C.
Friends may call at the funeral home tonight after 7.
