Dian King of Ireland
Rotheachtach King of Ireland (-1357bc)
was kept out of the Monarchy by his father's slayer, and his son. In his time gentlemen and noblemen first wore gold chains round their necks, as a sign of their birth ; and golden helmets were given to brave soldiers.
