Death of Mrs. Alex. Cumming.-Mrs. Alex. Cumming, an old resident, died on Sunday last, just 10 years after her hus band, who was associated with many of the pioneer movements of this State, notably the establishment of telegraphy here. Mrs. Cumming joined her hus band in Western Australia nearly thirty three years ago, and was well-known to all the old residents of Perth. Her health had been failing for some time past, but the end was somewhat sudden. She has left a wide circle of old friends, who will regret her as she was ever cheerful and bright. Her son, Mr. Gordon Cumming, who has lived with her for years, was un able to follow his mother to her rest, ow ing to severe illness. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon, and was very largely attended. The cortege left the deceased lady's late residence, 284 Ade laide-terrace, for the Presbyterian Ceme tery, East Perth, where the remains were interred beside those of her late husband. The Rev. J. Gray officiated at the grave. The chief mourners were: Mr. Redmund Cumming, Derwas, and Caton Cumming, grandsons of deceased, Mr. and Master Cole. The pall-bearers were: Mr. J. C. Foster, Mr. Geo. Ran dell, sen., Mr. W. H. Strickland, Mr. Thos. Rosling. Wreaths were sent by Mr. and Mrs. W. Strickland and the Misses Strickland, Mrs. Wittenoom, Ray Hope, Mr Gordon Cumming, Lady Le Steere and Miss Alice Lee Steere, E. Randell, Mr. and Mrs. J.C.
